Back to business...

So, I'm slowly getting back into business mode. Though, I've got my writer's boots on (I don't wear a writer's cap, it's squishes my hair), I'm getting back into business mode again. I'm going to do things a little differently this time around...meaning that I'm actually taking a much more aggressive approach as opposed to just sending out a handful of press releases and review copies. I got good reviews last time, but the book didn't do shit.

This time around, I will be pursuing a distributor, which means that the book could be in bookstores...like real bookstores. I'm still going to hit up the indie bookstores, what few of them are left on the planet, to carry it. I'm also going to be trying to have some book-signings. No readings, though...it's not a nerves thing, I just stutter when I read aloud. Seriously, I can write pretty well, but speaking is not my forte.

On the exercise front...that slacked off for a couple of months, but I'm getting back into it pretty aggressively. I've been eating better for the last week, with a couple of missteps...hey, we have pizza every Friday at work - it just happens to be my favorite food. Sue me. I haven't had Chinese food in two weeks and I've been avoiding most sweets, 'cept for the little bag of Dove milk chocolates that I have stashed...fuck, those things are good. Had some breakfast tacos this morning, they were not so good...I think I will be able to do without them for a while. Been cooking at home, which saves money, so that's good. Nothing fancy, just chicken and rice and sometimes mushrooms and peas, pork chops and green beans. Been eating lunchmeat on whole wheat tortillas for lunch with a dab of mayo (I'm human for fuck sake) and some lettuce. All in all, I'm down five pounds from last week. Only a bunch more to go.

The puppy is still growing. She gets her next official weigh in next week. My guess is 40 pounds, she's gained 9 pounds every month since I've gotten her, so it should be about right. She still loves to cuddle, which kinda sucks at five in the morning...it's cute, but I don't like to be awake that early. Had to take Leo to the vet the other day, he's been throwing up so I wanted to see if we could change his diet to that really good food that the vet has to prescribe. He hasn't been throwing up, so I'm assuming that it's working out for him. Poor little guy didn't like going to the vet...Zoe gets to go next. There's nothing wrong with her, 'cept that she is a little bit psychotic, she just needs a check up.
