Writing, writing, writing....and writing!

So, I've been doing a lot of writing lately...I feel like I'm getting back into that zone again. It feels really good to be back to my old self, so to speak. It's been crazy with all of these animals around, but they're all settling in now that they know the puppy isn't going anywhere. At the moment, the puppy is on the bed sleeping, Lucky's in the laundry basket sleeping, Leo is off somewhere sleeping and Zoe is having a bath on my desk and rubbing up against my laptop. It's an environment conducive to getting some writing done.

I'm probably a third of the way through the re-write on Pretty Penny. I keep changing some things here and there, but the story is basically staying the same, so it's not so hard to fill in the blanks. I'm pretty excited about this book, I have high hopes for it and I think that it's good. After four years of not putting out any books, I don't think anybody will be disappointed. I most certainly am not.

Oh, and speaking of the puppy...I'm very relieved to report that Leyla's official weigh-in today was only 35.6 pounds. She's still huge, but she's only gained 4 pounds since last month, which is great because she had been gaining 9 pounds every month. I have no doubts that she still has quite a bit of room to grow, but at least it's slowing down.

And, it wouldn't be a blog if I didn't bring up my big, fat ass. I've been working out off and on, but I'm trying to get back into the "on" part of that. It's hard when I'm writing, though, because I like to be able to sit with my laptop at my desk or in bed and just write. I can do it on my bike, but it's not very comfortable.
