More reading...

So, I got the first two books in the Twilight Saga recently...I figured reading a vampire novel would be good in my research before writing a vampire novel. Makes sense, right? It's okay and I like that the vampires are a little non-traditional. HOWEVER, it's written in the first person and that person is not one of the vampires. And you know how I hate stuff written in the first person. I managed to get through all 498 pages of Twilight and I was not really impressed. This is more of a romance novel than a vampire novel...I wouldn't even classify it as horror b/c there's no blood in it. Okay, maybe just a little bit of blood, but hardly enough to constitute what one might call horror. Plus, the body count is really low...just one vampire bites the dust. But there are no details of his demise. Man, I need to read a good book...I won't even crack open the second book.

Anybody got any good suggestions?
