So, I spent the bigger part of yesterday painting my bedroom. The walls had been purple for the last 11 years, so I figured a change was in order. I decided on green, but not just any green...the actual color is called Leap Frog. Think Kermit. Then, I decided to do the trim in pink...you know, because I like pink. It seemed like a good idea when I compared the swatches, so I went with it. It wasn't until after I painted the baseboards that I realized something...my bedroom now looks like one of those little hole-in-the wall Mexican restaurants. Oops...but, if only I could get someone to bring me yummy breakfast tacos in bed! One cool thing about the green walls (aside from the color-it's fuckin' awesome!), is that because my blinds are white and let in a lot of light, I never have to turn on any lights during the day! Unless it's raining, but this is Austin...more often than not, the sun will be shining.
Lucky helped...well, hindered the process. Dumbshit kept leaning against the wall or baseboards, so he got paint on him. Once, he stepped in the paint and tracked green footprints all over the room. Of course, when I tried to chase him to wipe it off his foot, he ran away and more footprints were left.
Also, of note...I finished reading Mommie Dearest. What a great book! I don't know if I'll be able to watch the movie again, though, because it's not really accurate. I'm currently looking for a new book to read this week...Amazon.com, here I come!
I've been working quite a bit on my new book, as well, lately. I'm thinking of trying to hunt down an agent yet again...I have not decided just yet. I finally took down the new Derby Gal site...it's time to put the magazine back into development. I'm planning on bring it back as soon as I can fund it properly. The good part is that I learned a lot from the experience...failure is funny that way. Well, there is no success without failure...right?
