I don't like to make a scene. I'd rather solve things in a civil manner, it's hard to hold a grudge when nobody pushes one on ya.
That being said...I made a big ol' scene today at the car dealership. I am not an open wound, there is no need to apply pressure. So, since my car might be totalled, I decided to do a little car shopping to get an idea and check out some stuff. When I pulled into Capital Kia, which is not far from my house, there was a school of salesmen at the entrance. One actually came up to my car and I had to stop to avoid hitting him. I rolled down the window and said hello, then he followed me as I parked. I told him my situation right off the bat...I'm just looking at stuff right now. So, he shows me the Rio 5 and it's kinda nifty. He insists that I take a test drive, but I told him that I didn't really need to. He tells me to have a seat in the passenger seat just to see how it drives...then he goes to the exit of the dealership and starts to get out of the car. I tell him again that I do NOT need to test drive the car. At that point, we had to go out of the driveway because backing up in a place like that is not a good idea. So, he drives it around the block and we get back to the dealership. I tell him that I want to check out the Spectra 5 because that's what I had. So, he disappears for like five minutes and brings one around for me to look at (apparently, they only had one on the lot). I love my car, so my thoughts were already set on getting another one. He tells me that I should test drive it and I tell him AGAIN that I do NOT need to take a test drive...I've been driving one for the last 3 years. So, he invites me inside onto the sales floor and says he's going to give me his card (at this point I'm thinking that I should have just left while I waited for him to hunt down the Spectra 5). He goes over to the desk and talks to the guys at the desk, then returns and tells me to have a seat. I told him that I wasn't going to buy a car today...JUST LOOKING. So, he returns to the sales desk and comes back with his sales manager. The sales manager shakes my hand and introduces himself (I don't remember his name), then tells me that I should have a seat. This is the point at which I lost my shit...the fucktard (thanks for that word, Jamie Lee) that couldn't make the sale was now trying to double team me. So, I looked at him and said, "I don't need to sit down. Look, I'm not buying a fuckin' car today, we're not running any numbers. I came in to look. I saw and now I'm done." Jaws dropped and the place gets really quiet. He says, "Well, why don't you just take it home with you now, no strings attached, I'll have it detailed and gas it up for you." To which I reply, "I have a rental and I'm good." His response, "We'll watch your rental." My response, "No, I'm responsible for that car. I know how the Kia drives and I will be back if I decide that I need to get one." This is the point at which I walked out the door. I will NEVER EVER return to that place EVER again. So, after I went home and bitched about it, I decided that I was going to go up to Georgetown to the Kia dealer up there. Now, Capital Kia is about 5 or so miles away from where I live. Hewlett Kia is in Georgetown, which is 20 or so miles away....I was good an pissed off when I left that place, so it's worth it. Until I get there and notice that there are no cars on the lot. Shit. On my way out there, I noticed a Suzuki dealership and decided to stop in there on my way back. It's a good thing I did...aside from the fact that I totally fell in LOVE with this car (SX4 Crossover), the salesman was awesome and understood my situation. He even kissed my ass in just the right way. We exchanged business cards and he asked me about Derby Gal, so we started talking about roller derby and I asked him if he remembered Ann Calvello...he actually used to watch her play when he was younger. That was fucking badass...as soon as the insurance company utters the word TOTAL, my happy little ass is going over to the Cleo Bay Suzuki on 1431 and I am getting into a shiny new car.
