Now that's better....

So, after being sickly on Monday, I'm finally back to my old self. Though, I have to admit, today was dicey when I decided to get Arby's for lunch. What the hell was I thinking? It was damn good, but I thought I was going to go back to the technicolor yawn. I can't really afford to do that because I called in sick tonight just to have an extra day to get better.

Being all better, I set to the arduous task for being a magazine editor. It's harder than it sounds, actually. Tomorrow night, I'm going to work on the pre-layout for the next issue and with any luck, I'll be working on the full layout by the weekend. Of coures, there's plenty to do in between because I still have to put everything in the right order and all that business. Hey, that's what they make lunch breaks for, right? I'm sure I can get that done during lunch one day at work, can't take more than half an hour. The last two took much longer because I didn't know what I was doing and I was working with someone else on it. Damn, she was a good associate editor and I miss working with her. But, I have a new associate editor and she's awesome...so I'm quite excited about that.

I'm also excited about the derby season starting up again in Austin. I actually have a reason to go out in public again. It's been too damn long since I've seen my favorite sport...part of me is dreading it, though, because I feel like I could be doing it. If it weren't for a stupid girl falling on my knee at try-outs (right after they told everybody not to grab onto somebody when you fall), I probably would've made it. It sucked sitting through the rest of the try-out because I knew that I could do every single one of the skills that they were testing. What sucks even more is that the girl who fell on me gave up before she finished. For now, I'm just going to get back into the gym and hit the rink to get some more practice in before I can try-out again.
