I got a thinking problem...

Man, does anybody else remember that song? It was from way back in those high school days. I smile just thinking about it...I love that whole album, I need to dig it out and blast it in the car. Anyhow, I really do have a thinking problem and I really do believe that's what keeps me up at night...there are just too many things to think about. But, there's something else that got me to thinking.

Unless you live in a cave (and if you do, you're not reading this because WiFi is not that damn strong), you know that it's the holiday season. This guy says to me, "Happy Holidays," and I did not reply (because I never do). So, he gets offended because I just kept walking...here's the conversation:

Him: Excuse me? Did you hear what I just said?

Me: Yeah

Him: And?

Me: And what?

Him: You know, this is the time of year where everybody is nicer...

Me (cutting him off): Dude, the fact that you need an excuse to be nice tells me that you're a major asshole and I won't wish you a happy holiday.

Him: You're a bitch.

Me (with a big smile on my face): 365 days a year, no excuses.

Am I really a bitch? No and pretty much anybody would tell you that. I will stick behind the statement that I made to this stranger in an HEB parking lot (where, by the way, I parked in the 'Customer with Child' space-hey, it was close to the door). Bottom line, I don't need an excuse to nice or be whoever I am. I may not be nice every single minute of every single day, but I don't need an excuse to be nicer. If you need an excuse to be nicer, that just says that you need to really think about how you treat people. If everyone was as nice as they were this time of year all year, there would be a huge change in the planet. It's like Valentine's day...if you need an excuse to be romantic, that's really sad.

So much to ponder...my mind shall meander for the night until something good comes on TV or I fall alseep. I start my new schedule tomorrow...it's 3:30 to midnight with Mondays and Tuesdays off. I'm very excited about the change and I'm also excited that overtime season is coming up. We're in a down season right now so the hours have been scarce and I haven't made as much as I'd like to have. Well, I can see that American Dreamz is on, so I'm going to watch that. I just love Mandy Moore's movies...what the hell does that say about me?
