Long time, no blog...

Well, not a real blog anyway. So, I've been working on a couple of books lately. Not sure which one I want to put out next. It doesn't look like a January release, though. I have no idea when I will be putting out my next book.

I am deconstructing Pretty Penny and making the parts into Blood on the Tracks under my pen name, Maggie O'Malley. I just love that name. I've also been working on a different book, The Final Season (tentative title, it will most likely change), which is about a reality show gone awry. By the way, I am loving reality TV lately.

Leyla is getting bigger, she's up to about 45 pounds now. She's not growing as much as she was before, so I'm thinking she's hitting a plateau. She's only 8 months, so she could still have a growth spurt in the next year or so. She definitely has German Shepard in her and very likely Boxer, but I'm seeing a little bit of Pit Bull coming out in her features. She's an absolute sweetheart (despite the fact that she's been eating my bookshelf while I am away at work) and still has to cuddle up with me at night to go to sleep. The only weird thing is that she reacts oddly to the television or when I'm playing certain videos on my laptop. There was a movie on the other night and she was just PISSED at the TV. I don't remember which one it was, but she was giving her 'don't fuck with me' bark and the hair on the back of her neck was standing up. She also freaked out the other day when I previewing my workout on my laptop - apparently, she didn't take to Jillian Michaels like her mummy does.

Speaking of the workout, I've started a new one. This one seems to be yielding results, though. I decided to do the Biggest Loser workouts and started with the Cardio Max. I'm currently in the second stage and it kicks my ass; but I can feel my body start to change, so it's totally worth it. I've still got a long way to go, but I am sticking with it. Aside from the video, I'm getting two more next week to mix in for better results. I'm also getting up at five in the morning during the week to do some time on the bike. It's kinda good because it gives me an energy boost for the day, but it makes me really tired. The best part? Even if I want to go back to sleep and skip the bike in the morning, I can't. Leyla wakes up with the alarm and must go outside...there's no going back to sleep after the alarm goes off. So far, I'm down 10 pounds in the last few week.

That's about it...but let's talk about school. I'm almost finished with my second class, which is Psychology. I don't really like the subject because it's not as definitive as it is relative. That's not science in my book. Despite that, I have managed to get my grade up to an A, which I am confident that I will finish with at the end of next week. My grade early on was an F or a high D, so I'm very pleased that I was able to pull out of that. The only reason it was so low is because I decided to do some of the quizzes off of what I remembered from the reading (you know, like they do in real school?). After that, I decided to make it more of a test of my skills to look things up. The good grades actually came from the writing assignments (perfect scores on all 3!) and the discussion board posts. I will admit that I've been a sarcastic bitch in many of my posts because of the subject, but I pull perfect scores every time. I have managed to piss off some of my classmates, but I don't really care. All I have to say about that is, 'if you don't want the answer, don't ask the question.' I will note that I am very disappointed that so many people have to bring their religious beliefs into the classroom. Look, I respect that you have faith in your religion, but keep it to yourself. Freedom of religion is also freedom from religion. I'm almost a little offended by it. Where is separation of church and state? I'm not paying a thousand bucks a class to listen to somebody preach.
